Principles of instruments on loan

Who?

Young, talented, highly motivated, up-coming musicians:
– Studying or having studied at a Music Academy (preferably Swiss Master’s degree)
– Starting their international career as an ensemble or as a soloist
– Participating in international and high-level music competitions

Basis for providing a string instrument on loan

For musicians studying for their university degree, the decision to provide an instrument on loan is made either in collaboration with the relevant teacher or upon recommendation from a renowned senior professional musician.

For musicians who have completed their university degree, an application describing the goal of their project and the need for an instrument on loan is to be presented to Foundation Boubo-Music for evaluation.

Agreement

A contractual agreement is signed between the musician and the representative of Foundation Boubo-Music at the time that the musician receives the string instrument on loan.

The benefit to the musician is that all instrument loans are free of charge. This includes the maintenance of the instrument(s) and the insurance costs. As part of the contractual agreement, the musician must comply with a strict maintenance program of the instruments (string instruments and bows).
